Goodyear
Goodyear is an iconic brand based on 120 years of dedication to uncompromising standards and performance. Founder Frank Seiberling began building The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in 1898, when he entered the acceleration race for bicycles and car tires that outperformed the competition on difficult roads. The name of the company was a tribute to Charles Goodyear to recognize his discovery of rubber vulcanization after a long and courageous search.
The first tires of Goodyear, chosen by Henry Ford in 1901 for his race that won in a race of the Driving Club of Detroit, were the first candidates of Henry Ford. Nine years later, Goodyear tires set a speed record of 131.72 mph and made their debut shortly thereafter at the Indianapolis 500, where Goodyear tires continued to win. Whether on land, asphalt or on the street, Goodyear’s passion for making tires that outperform the competition continues today.
Today, the Goodyear brand can be found in footwear, clothing, accessories, luggage and sports equipment, promotional items, car accessories, toys and souvenirs. Latin Shoes SA holds the brand license in Argentina for footwear and accessories.
Goodyear, an American brand synonymous with winning in Formula One, NASCAR and NHRA drag racing, designs and manufactures aviation tires, commercial trucks and heavy earthmoving equipment, as well as passenger cars and light trucks.
